  • Rudy Giuliani says Donald Trump may owe him unpaid legal fees.

  • Giuliani, whose financial woes are well-documented, made the claim in a new bankruptcy filing.

  • As Trump’s personal attorney, Giuliani led efforts to prove voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani suggested the former president failed to pay part of his legal fees amid a new bankruptcy filing.

He referred to a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J. Trump” in response to a question about possible pending claims, but did not specify how much he might be owed.

Giuliani declared bankrupt in December after he was ordered to pay two Georgia election officials $148 million in damages related to his 2020 election plots.

A new filing submitted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York outlines Giuliani’s financial situation and claims his monthly net income is just $2,308.

The New York Times previously reported that Giuliani had repeatedly unsuccessfully appealed to Trump to pay his outstanding legal fees.

The report said Giuliani believes he is owed “millions of dollars” for his efforts to keep Trump in power.

Giuliani’s financial problems are well documentedand he often said he couldn’t afford his legal fees.

His recent efforts to raise money for legal fees allowed him to win just $1 million from 13 donors.

As Trump’s personal attorney, Giuliani led the charge in trying to prove the former president’s baseless claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

Trump and Giuliani were criminally charged in Georgia state court, along with 17 others, in August for trying to overturn the state’s election results.

He is also being sued by voting machine makers Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic for defamation.

A federal jury ordered Trump to pay $83.3 million in damages on Friday E. Jean Carroll’s defamation suit against him.
