Prince Harry arrives in London to see King Charles

Prince Harry arrived in London on Tuesday afternoon for a rare visit with his father, King Charles III.

Harry was seen arriving at the King’s Clarence House residence in a black SUV after an overnight flight from his home in Los Angeles, California.

Royal officials announced Monday that the 75-year-old king had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer and was undergoing outpatient treatment. Less than 18 months into a reign he had waited decades to begin, Charles has suspended his public engagements but will continue his state activities and will not relinquish his constitutional duties as head of state.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said he, like many people, was “shocked and saddened” by the news, but said the king would “continue” to carry out his constitutional duties.

“Many families across the country listening to this will have been affected by the same thing and know what this means for everyone,” Sunak said. “So we’re just going to give him his will and hopefully we get out of this as quickly as possible.”

King Charles and Prince Harry have a rocky relationship, and Harry has rarely seen his father since the prince left royal duties in 2020 and moved to Los Angeles with his wife, Meghan.
