representative Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) finished fifth in a Republican poll for the new congressional seat she’s seeking — and the result reverberated throughout the weekend.
As Boebert’s name continued to trend on X Sunday, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) took shots at the far-right lawmaker.
“Before I went to bed, I thought it would be only appropriate to send ‘thoughts and prayers’ to my colleague Lauren Boebert,” Crockett said. wrote on the old Twitter. “I understand she placed 5th in her first poll of the election cycle. Now how many of you think BoBo is going to try to convince us that polls don’t matter…of course, unless they are trash for Biden and good for Trump! »
During a GOP primary debate Thursday, Boebert pushed back against her opponents’ claims that she was a ‘carpetbagger’ after running in another district for a better chance of winning. Boebert narrowly won the Third District in the 2022 election, resulting in his reelection to the Fourth District.
A subsequent survey, however, indicated that she was in for some tough sledding.
Boebert received just 10 percent of the vote in fifth place, prompting gasps from the room. Colorado Politics reported.
An informal poll of 117 participants in the room where the debate took place isn’t exactly political science, but it created a buzz on the Internet.
Republicans against the Trump X narrative have even gone so far as to declare, “She’s finished.”
